Groups
Binge Eating Disorder Group
Binge Eating Disorder is a serious yet treatable condition. It is the most common eating disorder in North America effecting 4% of the general population and up to 30% of those seeking treatment for weight loss. It is a complex medical and psychiatric illness that can not be cured by attempts to just "eat less". In fact, multiple diet attempts or over-restriction can often be a trigger or worsen binge eating.
If you find you are eating large amounts of food within a relatively short period of time, or eating beyond fullness, or feeling embarrassed at the amount you are eating and feel you have lost control of eating, speak to your health care provider for a referral to the Binge Eating Disorder Treatment Group. This 19 week dietitian and counsellor led treatment group will teach you strategies to take charge of your eating and improve your physical and mental health.
