The Hamilton Family Health Team has two physiotherapists who work out of our central office to complement existing services and improve the care of medically complex patients.
Appointments
You may request an appointment with a physiotherapist by calling your family doctor’s office. All visits are covered by the Ontario Ministry of Health for patients of the Hamilton Family Health Team.
What does a physiotherapist do?
- Promotes optimal mobility, physical activity and overall health and wellness;
- Prevents disease, injury, and disability;
- Manages acute and chronic conditions, activity limitations, and participation restrictions;
- Improves and maintains optimal functional independence and physical performance;
- Rehabilitates injury and the effects of disease or disability with therapeutic exercise programs and other interventions; and
- Educate and plan maintenance and support programs to prevent re-occurrence, re-injury or functional decline.
Physiotherapists are health professionals who provide safe, quality client-centred physiotherapy through a commitment to service availability, accessibility and excellence.
