Patients of Hamilton Family Health Team physicians have access to psychiatrists through their doctor's office. Psychiatrists, as consultants to the practice, can diagnose mental disorders, make treatment recommendations and prescribe medications.
Appointments
You may request an appointment with a psychiatrist by speaking with your family doctor. All visits are covered by the Ontario Ministry of Health for patients of the Hamilton Family Health Team.

The doctors without psychiatrists in their office can refer you to our centralized psychiatry program.
